The varnish has hardened since then so what we are left with is a cosmetic issue only

No cracks in the hard rubber sideplates

There are some casting cracks to the ferrule wraps and a wee bit of brassing in the guides

The internals also bear the initials "TAG" (Thomas Armstrong 19281978 ) which is stamped into the inside of the frame.
